About this app

Learn English, Spanish or Italian with Vemuno. Short lessons of a few minutes a day teach you new words, and spaced repetition makes sure you don't forget them.

Words go from easy to hard and are taught in three stages:
• Stage 1 · Learn with pictures: concrete words taught with photos, no translation.
• Stage 2 · Learn with your language: each word is reinforced with its meaning in your own language; actions are shown in short videos.
• Stage 3 · Learn with definitions: recognize the word from a simple definition in the language you're learning; tap the definition to see it in your language.

In every lesson you first see the word, then match it, choose it and type it. You can also answer typing questions by voice. Already know a group of words? Take its placement test and skip those levels in one go.

Spaced repetition so you don't forget
• Words you've learned come back after 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 16, 20… days.
• In review and hard-word rounds you type each word from memory; words you miss keep coming back until you get them right.
• Missing accents (ñ, é, à…) don't count as mistakes; you're shown the correct spelling.
• Pick up an unfinished lesson right where you left off.

Use the app in Turkish, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian or Arabic; translations and hints appear in the language you choose. The English course teaches American English; the Spanish course teaches Spanish from Spain.

No ads. Works offline: lessons, pictures and videos are built into the app. Sign in with an account and your progress is backed up, so you can continue on another phone.

Lessons are free; exercises use energy that refills over time. Vemuno Super (optional subscription): unlimited energy. Cancel anytime in Google Play.
