ReadMe is an EPUB and PDF reader for Android that brings your books, reading tools and text-to-speech together. Read a chapter on screen, organize your ebook library or keep listening with the screen off.

READ EPUB BOOKS YOUR WAY

Open your EPUBs and navigate chapters with the table of contents. Choose page mode or vertical scrolling, personalize your reading settings and return to your saved position when it is time for the next chapter.

Find a passage with full-text search, add bookmarks and save highlights and quotes you want to revisit.

LISTEN WITH TEXT-TO-SPEECH

ReadMe is also an EPUB reader with TTS. Have your books read aloud while you walk, commute or get things done at home. Background playback lets you keep listening with the screen off.

SUPERTONIC 3 AND OFFLINE VOICES

Listen to EPUB books offline with local voices, including Supertonic 3 and Piper. Download your chosen model or voice, then enjoy spoken chapters on your device wherever your day takes you.

ReadMe also supports Google TTS and ReadMe Local TTS. For more voice choices, connect Azure or ElevenLabs with your own API key.

ReadMe supports EPUB, PDF, CBZ and CBR. Browse PDF pages, jump to a page and use text search and read-aloud for text-based PDFs.

Enjoy CBZ and CBR comics with vertical and horizontal browsing, bookmarks and reading progress. Optional Smart Comics features include panel and speech-bubble detection.

Ratings and reviews

In general, very good, with simple and understandable customization. Areas for improvement: 1) when a book is first opened, custom-coloured text is shown correctly, but if any theme is chosen, the text becomes monochrome and there's no way to change it back. 2) Tapping on any part of the text brings up a large menu that covers a significant part of the screen on both bottom and top, and there's no way to disable this either or change how the menu options are brought up.

This app is great in term of User Interface and how it displays the files. However, their are some bugs that need to be fixed like add to read list later and some buttons don't work. For example, the more info. If the developer can polish the app, I would give it a five star rating.

Best e-book reader It works online and offline, barely any ads, great organization, though there are a few glitches once in a while, it has app memory if books are accidentally deleted so they can be restored, and it has a beautiful and modern interface.
