5Place is an app for quick walks. You open the app, and we suggest five interesting places nearby. For your convenience, the approximate distance to them is displayed in steps, meters, or minutes.
By tapping on a place card, you can view more detailed information, if available. You will also see photos if other users or moderators have added them.
If you liked or disliked a place, you can leave a review and add your own photo. It will be visible to you immediately, and after moderation, it will be available to all app users.
The app also features an exploration mode. This gamification element turns city walks into a mini-adventure. Your goal is to fill in dots on the map with your photos. This way, you can gradually explore and "complete" interesting places in the city, visually marking your progress on the map. If there is no photo at a point in this mode, it means it hasn't been explored yet.
My wife and I have always enjoyed exploring new cities this way. When arriving in an unfamiliar place, we created small tasks for ourselves: find an unusual courtyard, monument, or observation deck. While searching for these places, we got to know the city much better. Explore mode is an attempt to transfer this experience into the app.
Explore new places, take photos, share your impressions, and enjoy your walks!
