About this app

From elementary school through college, VEXcode is a coding environment that meets students at their level. The intuitive layout of VEXcode allows students to get started quickly and easily. VEXcode is consistent across Blocks and Text, across VEX IQ and VEX V5. As students progress from elementary, middle, and high school, they never have to learn a different blocks, code, or toolbar interface. As a result, students can focus on creating with technology, not trying to navigate a new layout.

Drive Forward is the new Hello World

The app is a great idea for when you forget to put your code into your robot and you dont have your chromebook on you. The thing is, the design of the app is terrible. It is literally just a port of the desktop app just thrown into mobile with barely any changes for mobile. One example is when I try to code using the forward for 1 inch, the gui for picking how many inches is out of porportion and goes off the screen. Sadly, that is not all. Good idea, bad execution.

I'm running this on Samsung DeX and it was working great! I can't seem to program the brain from the USB cable, but I could do it wireless, until today. For some reason the brain will not connect to my phone anymore. I tried all the help and tricks I could fine, but nothing seems to restore the connectivity. While the app is amazing, I can't test anything until this gets fixed. Once I'm connected again, this will be 5 stars for me.

We used the Chrome OS version of this product last year, and it worked really well. Functionally the program hasn't changed except for the fact that I can no longer save or load programs to or from custom folders. The school team keeps a memory stick to have as a backup and we can no longer use a Chromebook for that reason.
