Video Compressor makes large videos small enough to send - and it tells you the new size before it starts.
WHY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU GET
Pick a video and the app shows you what will come out: the new size, the new resolution and how much you save, in percent. No surprises after five minutes of waiting.
NEVER BIGGER THAN THE ORIGINAL
A video that is already tightly compressed cannot be squeezed much further. Most apps re-encode it anyway and hand you a file that is larger than the one you started with. This one checks first, says so, and refuses. And if a result still turns out no smaller, it is thrown away instead of kept.
A SIZE YOU CHOOSE
Set a target in megabytes - 8, 16, 25, 50, 100 or 200 - and the app works out resolution and data rate for you. Useful when an attachment has to stay under a limit.
FIVE STEPS, NO GUESSWORK
Very small (480p) for chats and mail, small (720p) for everyday use, medium (1080p) when it should still look like the original, keep resolution when only the data rate should drop, or your own target size.
EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
No upload, no account, no server. The app uses the video encoder built into your phone. It works without a network connection - the only reason it asks for internet access is the advertising.
WHAT ELSE IT DOES
- Several videos one after another
- Remove the sound track, useful for screen recordings
- Portrait videos stay portrait
- Save to your gallery or share straight from the app
- Interface in Arabic, German and English, light and dark
NO WATERMARK. NO SIGN-UP.
A note on honesty: the size shown before you start is an estimate, worked out from the resolution, the length and the data rate. How closely a phone's encoder follows a requested data rate differs from device to device, so the real file can come out somewhat larger or smaller. What does not depend on the device is the promise: the app checks the finished file and never keeps one that did not get smaller.
