About this app

You love your remote, you just wish it could control everything in your home. IrUSB can make that a reality. Control everything with a simple IR remote, even cloud controlled devices!

With IrUSB, you can use IR remotes of your choice to:
Control your AV gear (cable boxes, AVRs, TVs, etc)
Control the Android GUI on your Amazon Fire TV or nVidia Shield
Trigger cloud macros to do nearly anything from lighting control to security

IrUSB also can act as an IP controlled IR transmitter:
Control any IR device using popular control system such as SmartThings, Control4, and more.
Control any IR device using Alexa Voice commands (IrUSB is a supported Alexa Smart home Device)

IrUSB is designed to be nearly invisible. It is smaller than a standard USB cable, doesn't need a power supply, and the IR transceiver head is tiny and colored to blend in with AV gear.

IrUSB connects directly to the USB port on your Android or Android TV device (or a connected hub). This APP acts as a driver for the hardware and allows quick and easy configuration.

Please see www.video-storm.com to purchase the IrUSB cables.

Unusable on my Galaxy S9+ The active area of the app extends outside the area of my screen so I cannot do anything in the app! There's a huge empty space in the middle of the screen but the buttons and text hang off the top and bottom edges and are covered by the status bar. Edit: yes, I have the hardware. One method to program it for my application is to use the app, according to your website. No mention in there of "don't buy our hardware unless you have an android TV".

The IRUSB app isn't used to program the IRUSB device. You run the app on the device that will ultimately control the IRUSB for your application. For example, if you are using it to control your TV, run the app on the Android TV / Fire Stick that is near the TV (and will have IRUSB plugged into it). With PI, use the Linux driver instead.

Advertising for SplashTiles? Already purchased the hardware, please don't advertise every time the app opens. 1 Star as the ad will not go away.

If you install either our NetPlayTV or splashTiles app your boot notification screen will just show "Thanks for using IRUSB". You do not need to actually use / pay for the other apps. The boot notification screen itself is required by Android when the USB device connects.

A Note to Chris Wilt, who left a 1 star review because he couldn't properly install this on his Samsung phone, and I think he missed the point of this application entirely. This isn't meant to be installed on a phone, but on an Android TV box like Nvidia Shield or Amazon Fire, which would presumably always be used in Landscape mode.
