About this app

The Magic Coat hospital adventure app has been designed to assist you and your child to prepare for the process and procedures you will go through once at the hospital.

Quite often it is the unknown that puts fear into children. This app will gently prepare children for what is about to happen and give them simple and effective tools to manage the big feelings they may experience at the thought of going to hospital.

The Magic Coat is based on cognitive behaviour therapies and positive psychology and is a simple and engaging way to teach children how to manage their anxiety. The app has videos showing the different areas of the hospital that you will visit and games to make the learning process fun.
Children will have the opportunity to think about how they are feeling and decide on the tools they will use to manage their feelings and be brave.
As a parent we encourage you to engage in the app with your child so that you can best support your child’s mental health and well-being on this hospital adventure.
