Dental FearLess is a mobile app designed by clinical researchers funded in part by NIH/NIDCR UG3DE029453; UH3DE029453; and R42-DE030040 to build a web-based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) psychoeducation tool to facilitate patient-dentist communication regarding dental fears. This mobile device-based application is designed to be used by dental patients before their dental appointment. It provides evidence-based cognitive behavior therapy educational information and strategies with visual and auditory sensory experiences based on questions completed at the beginning of the app to help guide the psychoeducational app experience. Upon completing this app-based experience, a reminder plan is generated for the patient to review and utilize during their next dental visit. This research is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov and interested individuals with fear of dental procedures can learn more about participating at DentalFearLess.org
