About this app

Amethyst brings the best decentralized social network to your Android phone. Just insert your Nostr private key and start posting.

Nostr is the most decentralized social network on the internet. Instead of a single website, it’s a network of thousands of users posting to each other's relay servers that can all interact with one another, seamlessly.

Best looking Nostr app on Android but it has some quirks. The top bar looks odd in light mode - purple on the system bar, then white, then purple again. Just make it all purple or white. Some bugs with profile/banner pictures not sticking. Would love to get push notifications somehow for replies.

Not sure how I can stop this app from using large cache. Gets up to around 800mb, doesn't allow cache to be cleared. Clear storage and reactivate for now. Devs please look into it. Update: since clearing I can partly clear cache regularly now.

Humm.. the app will use to cache everything for you. If you have space, it uses more, if you don't, it uses less. But the more it uses, the better it gets.

I love Nostr, this Nostr client is a bit buggy, but devs are responsive and iterating quickly so I have high expectations. Provide your private key and away you go; censorship-resistant, free and open protocol, based on decentralised relays.

Are you using a public key? You need a private key to post. Otherwise the app is read only.
