About this game
Moldova, 1476. A family stops its cart in a quiet clearing, unpacks, and decides to stay. That clearing becomes your village, and every puzzle you solve writes another line of its story.
Plai: Village Tale is a cozy match-3 chain puzzle and village builder inspired by Moldovan folk life. Link three or more matching tiles to bring in the harvest and dig treasure from the mine, then spend every haul growing a bare plot into a living settlement: cottages, a well, a pie house warm with plăcinte, a blacksmith, a tavern, a church, and one day, the manor.
No energy bars, no lives, no timers. Plays one-handed, in portrait, online or offline. Five minutes or a whole evening: the village waits patiently.
✨ LIFE IN THE VILLAGE ✨
🧩 Puzzles with depth. Chain wheat, grapes, wood, stone, iron, gold and rare gems. Clear weeds and rocks, catch golden tiles and wildcards, and forge 13 tools, from the humble Scarecrow to Dynamite and the Ore Detector.
🏘️ 13 buildings to raise and upgrade. Assign workers, expand storage, unlock new tiles, bread and wine recipes, and permanent perks. Workers keep producing offline; come back to a full storehouse.
🍇 Villagers with opinions. Vasile brews plum brandy, Doina's goat eats the marigolds, and Granny Ileana keeps feeding sarmale to the neighbour's cat. They post orders mid-puzzle and thank you by name when you deliver.
📰 The village news runs while you play: "A goose has entered the village. Mood: confrontational."
🐴 Old Dumitru's cart rolls in with trades, mystery sacks and the occasional rare tool. Treasure maps surface. The village cat brings gifts: sometimes a gem, sometimes a ceremonial mouse.
🎪 The weekly hram. Your village keeps its own festival, as Moldovan villages have for centuries. Collect the festival resource all week, climb from bronze to gold, and earn a blessing for the runs ahead.
