About this app

Tone Room for Android (beta) is an editor/librarian for VOX products.
By connecting a compatible product to your Android device with a USB cable, you can edit sounds, manage user programs, and back up files. You can also use Adio Air wirelessly by connecting via Bluetooth MIDI.

Note

If you want to continue using data files saved with an older version of Tone Room (beta), do not uninstall the older version, but instead "Update" it to this version and re-save your files following the "Steps to rescue old files" below.

・Data files saved in older versions of Tone Room (beta) will be deleted when you uninstall Tone Room (beta).
・Old versions of Tone Room save files in a special folder that cannot be accessed by other apps, so they cannot be copied with other apps such as file managers.
・Files saved in the default folder of Tone Room (beta) v1.4.5 or later will not be deleted even if Tone Room (beta) is uninstalled, and can be accessed from other apps such as file managers, but please note that they will not be visible from a reinstalled Tone Room (beta). This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the stable version of Tone Room.

Operating environment
USB connection:
Smartphone/tablet with Android 14.0 or later (USB OTG cable etc. required)
Bluetooth connection:
Android 14.0 Smartphones/tablets with 8.0 or later

*Even if the above requirements are met, your device may not support MIDI, USB host, or Bluetooth Low Energy. If this is detected, this Play Store page will display a message that installation is not possible.

Steps to rescue old files

1. Start Tone Room (beta) v1.4.5 and select the target product on the "Select target device" screen and press OK.
*There is no need to connect to the product.
2. Select "Open File..." from the menu in the upper right corner of the main window.
3. Tap the part where the path is displayed at the top of the “Open File” screen (/storage/emulated/0/Document/Tone Room, etc.) and select "Tone Room App storage" from the drop-down menu that appears.
4. Select the desired file and press "Open". Check that a file tab is added to the left side of the main window.
5. With the tab of the desired file selected, select "Save File As..." from the menu and save it.
*When you open the "Open File" or "Save File As" screen, the default folder will always be displayed.

To access the default folder of Tone Room (beta) v1.4.5 from other apps such as file managers, look in the following location:

Internal storage > Documents > Tone Room

*The "Internal storage" part may differ depending on the app. The above is when using "Files by Google" by Google LLC.

Ratings and reviews

When it works, it's great. But, it's very buggy on my android phone. I think it's the MIDI via Bluetooth that trips it up. May very well be my phone, as it keeps updating and then it's a crapshoot whether this app works or not. But love the interface, tones, and options it adds to my Amp. Hope you keep working on it!

I have a new VT20X amp. I installed this app on my S24 Ultra. While I can start the app unplugged, as soon as I then plug in the USB lead from the amp, or if it is plugged in when starting the app, the app crashes: "Tone Room (beta) closed because this app has a bug". No *%&£ Sherlock! Vox, please get a working app sorted.

Installed on my S22 Ultra and the app connects via blutooth the next screen is zoomed in, makes the app unuseable as you can't get to saved presets on the phone or the amp slection or effects, now I know why the guy sold me the Vox ADIO GT Air so cheep....
