HOURCAR is a nonprofit, round-trip, carshare organization serving the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota. HOURCAR provides a variety of hub-based vehicles for trips as short as 30 minutes or as long as 3 days.

Evie Carshare is an all-electric one-way, free-floating carshare service operating in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Trips are by the minute, hour or day.

Ratings and reviews

App needs some work. I've spent a few days searching for a vehicle to drive and they are never where the app says they should be located. Perhaps some sort of location system in each of your cars would help so the customer would be able to find one easier. And also showing the license plate of the vehicle would help too.

The app occasionally glitches out and renders the map as just a black plane. I think this was fixed recently though. Other times it can just be very slow and laggy. For the most part though it's pretty solid, and the service itself is an incredible way to save money while still having access to cars. 4.5/5 for Evie as a service, 3.5/5 for the app. If I could suggest anything, it'd be to provide a walk time estimate to any reserved Evie.

I LOVE having Evie and Hourcar at my fingertips because I don't own a car currently. However, the app really could use some work. It is not necessarily the most intuitive once you get to the car and when you finish your trip. I also think the app could warn you about going over your reservation time. They charge you $40. I love the program and I'm grateful it exists just a few tweaks need to be worked out on the app.

What's new

Introducing Radar functionality: the new Radar feature allows members to request a push notification when an Evie becomes available nearby. This will make it easier to use Evie Carshare for your flexible trips.

Our pricing display for Evie has also been updated to reflect the per-minute/hour/day pricing applicable to your plan, making it clearer how much your trips will cost.
