Keep a private, encrypted copy of your WhatsApp chats and media in the cloud — protected so strongly that even we cannot read it.

Zero-knowledge by design: your backups are locked with the 64-digit encryption key that WhatsApp shows you on your own phone. That key is stored only on your device, in Android's hardware-backed secure storage. It is never uploaded, never shared, and never visible to us. Every media file is additionally encrypted on your phone with AES-256 before it leaves the device — the server only ever stores ciphertext.

Because of the zero-knowledge design, your 64-digit key is the only thing that can unlock your chat backups. If you lose it, nobody — including us — can recover your data. Write it down or store it in a password manager before you start.

PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED
• All files access: required to read WhatsApp's local backup and status folders (Android/media/com.whatsapp) so they can be backed up or saved, and to save files you download. Nothing else is scanned or uploaded.
• Contacts (optional): only to show saved names next to chats in the viewer. Contacts never leave your phone.
• Notifications and alarms: to show backup progress and run your scheduled backup on time.
