The book Fitnah al-Wahhabiyyah (Wahabiyyah Disaster) is a monumental theological and historical work written by Sayyid Ahmad bin Zaini Dahlan, a Mufti of Makkah Al-Mukarramah at that time. This book was specifically prepared to review and refute certain religious doctrines, with the main focus maintaining the legality of traditional practices such as tawassul (interceding in prayer) and tashaffu' (asking for intercession) through the position of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, both during his lifetime and after his death. Using the evidence of authentic hadith as well as the history of friends, the author dissects the errors of the opponent's arguments while strongly rejecting accusations of shirk and the phenomenon of easily giving away (takfir) to fellow Muslims without justified syar'i reasons.
