Discover a new way to explore the city! Wanderer introduces an urban game that challenges you to discover historic buildings in central Bucharest. By completing urban adventures, you progress through the platform and learn about the city's architectural fabric!
The Wanderer project encourages urban exploration by enriching the ways people interact with the city. This is achieved digitally by offering an application available on mobile platforms. The app contains information about all the buildings located in the central areas of Bucharest, providing details about each one.
Upon entering the platform, the user is greeted by a white, three-dimensional map of the selected city. Currently, Wanderer covers the city of Bucharest, with development for other cities underway.
The app locates the user and allows interaction with all nearby buildings. Interacting with a building means tapping on it on the screen, which brings up a window containing general cultural and architectural information.
The user can leave their geolocated area and navigate within the app to any other area of the city that interests them. They can consult the app to find all Neo-Romanian style buildings in their vicinity (or any other style from a list of 22 options), visually identify the architectural periods that shaped the city, or investigate whether there are buildings classified as historical monuments near their location.
Additionally, the user has access to 3 urban adventures every day. These adventures challenge you to activate specific buildings based on various parameters such as architectural style, historical period, famous architects, monument buildings, or landmark streets.
It has never been easier to find out information about the building in front of you — or any other. Whether you're in the city or at home.
