War.app (formally known as Warzone) is a deep, skill-based online strategy game inspired by classic board games but built for modern multiplayer.

Fair, Skill-Based Gameplay
• No pay-to-win, ever. All games are equally fair for all players.
• Luck-free: By default, War.app games are determined entirely by your skill.

Single-Player & Multiplayer
• Active community: Over 10,000 multi-player games are played every day.

• There are thousands of maps to choose from, all made by the community. Or you can design your own! Maps range from small brawls to epic conquests with 4000 territories.
• Play against real people, or play any of the thousands of single-player levels against the computer. Both are 100% free.
• Community levels: Play single-player levels from the community, or make your own level and watch replays of other players defeating it.
• Cards: War.app has a variety of cards with varying effects, like the Diplomacy Card, Spy Card, Airlift Card, Blockade Card, and more!
• Mods allow extending the game engine. No installation required.

Play at Your Own Pace
• Faster games: All players can take their turn at the same time. Your friends don't need to be all be online at the same time to play with them. Take your turns when it's convenient and War.app will wait for you.

Competitive Play
• Compete in tournaments, ladders, clan wars, quickmatch. War.app has a highly active competitive community.
• Quickmatch: QM makes it easy to jump into multi-player by matching you with players of equal skill on templates you like playing.
• Open Games: If Quickmatch isn't to your liking, you can always browse through a list of games made by other players, or make your own!

• War.app is an indie game in the truest sense of the word, as the entire game is made by a single person known as Fizzer, who has been developing the game since 2008.

Ratings and reviews

the game is very well designed, the app is less so, particularly the most recent update In previous versions I never had an issue with speed but with the latest update the app has been incredibly slow (only on mobile not desktop); especially when typing, with text being extremely delayed, sometimes lagging multiple seconds between typing a character and it showing in the box. Also the map is laggy while scrolling around, and even just scrolling the open game menu lags.

The game is good but I'm sick of the long adverts every time I start or restart. I'll buy a game outright but there is no way I'll be buying a subscription. I fully understand the reasoning behind adds for free play, but the same boring add over and over at every change or restart is just too much. I don't mind in app purchases either, but once you need to buy to win, it becomes pointless and unfair. Other than that, great game.

Pretty fun little strategy game, my friends and I love to have big free for alls on massive maps. 5/5 would absolutely recommend, even if you don't like strategy games, as long as you have friends, I'd recommend giving it a shot. One very minor gripe I have is that the sound effects aren't *too* great, but they're not terrible and you can turn them off if you don't like them. There's also an idle mode for people who like idle games. Support this indie dev, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

What’s new

- Added "Hot" sorting option for community levels, feature requests, and quickmatch template voting. It sorts items to the top that have gotten high number of votes/likes relative to its age.
- Added auto-sort option for idle artifacts.
- Added an experimental OS Font Fallback option to settings
- When returning to the app from another app, classic games now fire off a refresh.
- Adjusting the UI scale is now done in increments, instead of with a slider.
