The students may be familiar with the above hadith. Although they did not read it directly in Shahîhain's book, the hadith must have been found at the beginning of the book Matan al-Ghayah wa at-Taqrîb by al-Qâdhi Abu Syuja ', which they studied daily at the pesantren. This book examines the basics of Islamic law or what is often called the science of fiqh.
The science of fiqh can certainly be found in every curriculum of Islamic education institutions, both Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, and other institutions throughout the world. That is because the science of fiqh is a very important science. It concerns the behavior or actions of everyone who has borne legal responsibility (mukallaf). So it is not wrong if the science of fiqh, in the book Ta'lim Muta'allim is referred to as "the best possible leader", especially knowledge, a shield that protects from harm, and also people who are experts in fiqh are better than people of worship.
This book was compiled by Sheikh Ahmad bin Husain bin Ahmad Al-Asfihâni or known as al-Qâdhi Abu Syuja '(433-593 H). In some manuscripts, this book is called "Matan Taqrîb", and some other manuscripts are called "Ghâyatul Ikhtishâr", because of that Syekh Ibn Qâsim al-Ghâzi gave two names for the Taqrîb syarah book which he wrote: Fathul Qarîb al-Mujîb fî Syarh Alfâdz at-Taqrîb and Al-Qawl al-Mukhtâr fî Syarh Ghâyah al-Ikhtishâr (Syekh Ibn Qâsim al-Ghâzi, Fathul Qarîb, Beirut: Dar Ibn Hazm, 2005, p. 19).
As the name implies, this book is arranged very concisely, the language is not too difficult, does not contain many differences of opinion. The background for the preparation of this book is the request of some of al-Qâdhi Abu Syuja 'companions, so that he is pleased to compile a book of fiqh of the Imam Syafii school of fiqh which is concise, easy to memorize, and easy to digest systematically, especially for beginner students.
