Water in the speaker makes everything sound muffled — calls, music, video. This app helps push it out with sound.

It plays a low-frequency tone that moves the speaker membrane far enough to force water out of the grille. Turn the volume all the way up, take the case off, hold the phone with the speaker facing down and start a program. Wipe the drops as they come out.

HONEST NOTE
Sound helps with water sitting in the speaker grille. It cannot reach water inside the housing — if a few passes change nothing, let the phone dry at room temperature.

What’s new

• Fixed: in the speaker test, tones kept playing and piled up on top of each other. A tone now stops on a second tap, when you pick another one, and when you leave the screen.
• The test now says which frequency to trust: water muffles 5000 Hz first, so a dull tone there means the speaker is still wet. Compare it with speech at 1000 Hz.
