About this app

PureWeather is a fast, clean weather app for the United States — with no ads, no tracking, and no account required. Just open it and get the forecast.

Most weather apps bury the forecast under ads, sell your location data, or push notifications you never asked for. PureWeather does none of that. It pulls directly from the National Weather Service (NWS) and Open-Meteo, shows you exactly where the numbers come from, and gets out of your way.

WHAT YOU GET

• Today at a glance — current conditions, "feels like," humidity, wind, dew point, UV index, and a sun-arc showing sunrise, daylight length, and sunset.
• Hourly forecast — temperature, precipitation chance, and an at-a-glance hourly graph.
• 16-day forecast — tap any day to expand wind, humidity, UV, sunrise/sunset, moon phase, and the full NWS forecast text.
• Interactive radar — animated precipitation with a timeline scrubber, plus an optional live wind & temperature station overlay (METAR) and a satellite layer (visible, infrared, water vapor).
• Trip planner — compare the weather at your departure and arrival for any time and trip length. Great for road trips and flights.
• Outdoor activity ratings — see at a glance whether it's a good day for running, cycling, golf, the beach, hiking, or stargazing.

GO DEEPER (the Explore tab)

• Forecast vs Actual — we show you how accurate the forecast actually was. Compare what was predicted 1, 3, and 5 days out against what really happened. Most apps hide this; we put it front and center.
• Today vs normal — how today compares to the 10-year average, plus record highs and lows for the date.
• Air quality, pollen, and active tropical systems from the National Hurricane Center.

BUILT ON DATA YOU CAN TRUST

PureWeather uses the National Weather Service for daily text, highs and lows, and alerts wherever it's available, and Open-Meteo as a global backup and for extras like UV index, sunrise/sunset, and precipitation timing. We don't blend two numbers into a mushy average — we pick the better source for what you're looking at and tell you which one it is. Radar tiles are from RainViewer; severe-weather context comes from NOAA's Storm Prediction Center.

PRIVACY FIRST

No ads. No third-party trackers. No account. We don't sell or share your data. Your location is used only to fetch your forecast.

FREE

PureWeather is completely free. If you'd like to support development, there's an optional donation link — but everything in the app is, and will stay, free.

United States coverage only (for now).
