About this app

Proof of when and where, stamped on every photo.

Datum is a timestamp camera with GPS. Every photo you take is stamped with the time, the date and time zone, the street address, the GPS coordinates, the accuracy of the fix and the compass heading, all measured at the moment you press the shutter.

If you have ever needed to add a date and time stamp to a photo, or to show exactly where a picture was taken, this is the app for it. Datum is a date stamp camera, a location stamp camera and a GPS map camera in one.

WHAT GETS STAMPED ON YOUR PHOTO

๐Ÿ•’ Time, date and time zone
๐Ÿ“ Street address, geocoded at the moment of capture
๐Ÿงญ GPS coordinates, accuracy in meters, and compass heading
๐Ÿข Your company name and logo (Pro)

HOW IT WORKS

๐Ÿ“ท Open the camera and shoot. The time stamp and the GPS location are captured with the photo
๐Ÿ—‚ Photos group into jobs, one visit to one site
๐Ÿ“ Add a label to the stamp and a note to any photo
๐Ÿ“„ Export the whole job as a PDF photo report with a map page

MEASURED IS LOCKED, WRITTEN IS YOURS

The time, the GPS coordinates, the accuracy and the heading are measured by your phone, and Datum gives you no way to edit them. What you write, the label on the stamp and the note on a photo, stays yours to change at any time. Datum records what the device measured. It performs no network verification and claims no legal certification.

THE STAMP IS NEVER BURNED INTO THE FILE

Most timestamp camera apps burn the date straight into the image, and it is stuck there forever. Datum does not. Your original photo stays exactly as the camera sensor wrote it, and the timestamp is drawn on top when the photo is shown, shared or exported. That is what lets you move the stamp, restyle it, or apply a new look to an entire job weeks later, without ever altering the original picture.

BUILT FOR SPEED ON SITE

โšก Volume buttons fire the shutter, so it works with gloves on
โšก No review screen after a shot. Frame, fire, keep moving
โšก An honest GPS accuracy chip, green, amber or red, so you know what the fix is worth
โšก High contrast dark interface, readable in direct sun
โšก Works offline. If the address cannot be looked up on site, Datum falls back to the last known address, then to raw GPS coordinates

PDF PHOTO REPORTS

Select a job and export it as a PDF report containing every photo with its time stamp and GPS location data, your labels and notes, and a map page showing where each shot was taken. Send the photo report before you leave the site.

WE NEVER READ YOUR PHOTO GALLERY

Datum never asks for access to your photos. To bring an existing picture into a job you use the system photo picker, which hands over only the image you chose. The app sees nothing else. Imported photos are marked as imported in the report, and when a file carries no location we show the date alone rather than invent a position.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER

No sign up, no login, no cloud. Everything stays on your phone.

WHO USES A GPS TIMESTAMP CAMERA
