About this app

Some sites you visit every day have no app. You open a browser, find the tab, or dig through bookmarks — every time.

WebPin puts them on your home screen instead. Tap the icon and the site opens full screen, without a browser bar in the way.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Enter a web address
2. Choose the name that appears under the icon
3. Design the icon — pick a photo, or use letters and colours
4. Add it to your home screen

That's it. The shortcut behaves like any other icon: move it, put it in a folder, drop it on your dock.

AN ICON YOU ACTUALLY CHOSE

Most shortcuts inherit whatever artwork a website happens to provide, and plenty of sites provide nothing usable. WebPin lets you decide:

• Use any photo from your gallery
• Zoom the image until it sits the way you want
• Or skip photos entirely — up to 3 letters, your choice of colour
• 24 background colours, plus any hex code you like
• Letter colour picks itself for contrast, or set it yourself

Make one site look like a serious work tool and another like a bookmark for fun. They are your shortcuts.

WHO FINDS THIS USEFUL

• Anyone signing in to the same intranet or admin panel every morning
• People who rely on sites that never shipped an app
• Anyone whose bookmark list stopped being searchable years ago
• Setting up a phone for a family member who just needs one page to open easily

BUILT WITHOUT A SERVER

WebPin has no backend, which means there is nothing to leak:

• Addresses, names and icons stay in your device's storage
• Only the single photo you pick is copied in — nothing is uploaded
• We cannot see which sites you visit, because nothing reaches us
• Sites keep you signed in between visits, the way an app would

The address of the page you are on is always shown at the top, so you can see where you actually are.

WORTH KNOWING

• No limit on how many shortcuts you create
• Adding icons to the home screen needs Android 8.0 or newer
• A few launchers do not let apps place icons at all — WebPin will tell you if yours is one
• Ads appear on WebPin's own screens only. Pages you open through a shortcut never carry our advertising
• Free, with no paid tier and nothing locked away
