About this game

Deep underground, in an altar room lit by torches, the Codebreakers' Guild keeps its puzzles cut in stone, nine by nine. Captain Kaelen has kept watch over them for a hundred years. Can you count to nine?

CLASSIC SUDOKU, NOTHING ADDED
Nine rows, nine columns, nine boxes. Each one holds 1 to 9 exactly once. No variants, no cages, no tricks.

FIVE LEVELS
• Flash — an Easy puzzle with only 26 cells open. A game for a coffee break.
• Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme — each one a band of solving techniques, from singles to X-wings and chains.

NEVER A GUESS
Every puzzle is rated by a technique solver and has exactly one solution. You never need to guess. If you are stuck, there is a step of logic you have not found yet.

HINTS THAT TEACH
Stuck? A hint shows you where to look and why, then marks the cells. It gives you the answer only if you ask.

TOOLS THAT STAY OUT OF THE WAY
• Pencil marks that clear themselves when you ink that numeral in the same row, column or box.
• Undo, always free. Erase any numeral you placed.
• A wrong numeral flashes red and does not stay. The mistake counter keeps an honest score.

THE LEDGER
Solve a puzzle and Captain Kaelen reads the ledger: your time, mistakes and hints, your best time on that level, games solved, your run of perfect games, and your best run.

PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
The game saves after every move. Close the app, come back tomorrow, and tap Continue. The clock stops while you are away.

A ROOM, NOT A THEME
The altar room is from Spearfall, the world of our tabletop events: torchlight on stone, a glowing floor, gems that catch the light. Each numeral sets down like a stone and rings its own note, a dry wind moves through the tunnels, and a lute plays now and then. Sound and music each have their own switch.
