About this app

The App was created within the Life IMAGINE project (LIFE19 IPE / IT / 000015) to be used during the preparatory actions (Action A.12). Through this App, the volunteer collaborators authorized to use it will be able to participate in the census of all the obstacles that interrupt river continuity and that prevent the movement of fish fauna. The App allows you to record the presence of natural and artificial barriers that are present along a river (dams, weirs, waterfalls, etc ...), sending the coordinates, the photograph of the obstacle and any other data to a specially prepared server , where their archiving will take place.
The use of the App is aimed at sport fishermen, canoeists, bikers, trekking enthusiasts and all other river users who intend to contribute to improving the environmental quality of the waterways. The census of the works present in the river beds mainly concerns the rivers of the Umbria Region, but can also be extended to other Italian realities. The data will serve to outline a complete picture of the current river fragmentation, with the aim of contributing to the implementation of a plan for the progressive restoration of river continuity in the hydrographic network of Umbria, reducing one of the main factors of impact on aquatic fauna and improving the state conservation of native fish species.
