TileBuddy is the mahjong scoring app for real-table play. Hong Kong and Taiwan. Track every win, scan tiles with AI, and look up hand values in seconds. Whether you're settling scores at the table or still learning, TileBuddy handles the math.
HONG KONG & TAIWAN
Play Hong Kong (13-tile, faan) or Taiwanese (16-tile, base and tai). Pick your ruleset and the whole app follows: the win screen, the scoring, and the wiki. Taiwanese settles as base plus total tai times the tai value, with the dealer streak applied per settlement the way it's actually played.
REFEREE MODE
Track scores during your game without doing the math. Enter player names, set your stakes and scoring table, and TileBuddy handles every payment calculation. Self-pick wins, discard wins, configurable payment styles (standard or "discarder pays all"). Wind rotation and dealer tracking happen automatically. Undo any round with one tap.
WINS-ONLY MODE
Don't want to track points? Switch to wins-only mode and just count who won each round. Per-player W counters on every seat. Discard wins skip the scoring step entirely. Built for casual nights where you only care about the W.
AI HAND SCANNER
Point your camera at your winning hand and let AI identify the tiles. The Hand Scanner recognizes all 42 tile types: Bamboo, Dots, Characters, Winds, Dragons, Flowers, and Seasons. It works out your faan or tai from the tiles it reads, and you can correct anything it gets wrong before you log the hand.
BUILD THE HAND YOUR WAY
Tap tiles into a flat pool, or build the hand meld by meld with a concealed switch on each one. Meld-by-meld entry lets the app score concealment and kongs exactly, and it's remembered separately for each ruleset.
MAHJONG WIKI
A complete reference for both rulesets. Browse 40+ Hong Kong scoring hands by category with example tile layouts, filtered by Classic, New 6, or New 18 style rules. The Taiwanese wiki lists every tai the app scores, cheapest first, plus the special hands and how base-and-tai settlement works. Both include a beginner-friendly rules walkthrough, and there's a Cantonese and Mandarin vocabulary guide with phonetic pronunciations.
