WhereAreYou is a location request app. It answers one question — where is the person I am trying to find, right now? — without either of you setting up an account.

You send a location request as a link, through any messaging app you already use. The person you are looking for taps the link, sees who is asking, and approves the request. Their GPS location appears on your map seconds later. They install nothing. They register for nothing. Neither do you.

It only ever works with their agreement. They can decline, or simply ignore the link, and you see nothing.

HOW A LOCATION REQUEST WORKS
1. Enter the name of the person you want to locate.
2. Send the request link in your messenger of choice.
3. They tap the link and approve the request on their own screen.
4. Their location appears on your map, in map or satellite view.

CONSENT, EVERY SINGLE TIME
Every location request is sent and approved separately. Approving one request does not give you standing access to anyone. There is no always-on tracking and no background monitoring: nothing reaches you unless the other person agrees to it on their own device, that time. If they ignore the link, you see nothing at all. This app is built on permission rather than surveillance, which makes it a poor choice for anyone hoping to follow another person secretly.

PRIVACY
An approved location is used for the request it was approved for. You do not need an account and we never ask you to create one. The person you are locating always sees who is asking before they decide.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK
Does the other person need to install the app? No. They open the link in their phone browser and approve from there.
Does it work if they use an iPhone? Yes. Anyone with a phone browser can answer a request, on iPhone or Android.
Which messaging apps work? Any app that can send a link, including SMS and email.
Can I locate someone without them knowing? No. Every request has to be approved on their device, every single time.
Do I have to sign up? No. There is no registration and no password.
What happens if they say no? Nothing is shared, and no location is shown to you.
Is there a location history? Yes. Every location that was approved and sent to you stays in your History tab.
