Nirbhaya – Who Safe is an offline-first emergency SOS safety application built to help users send emergency alerts quickly and reliably, even when internet access is not available. The app is designed for real-life emergency situations where immediate communication is critical.

Users can trigger an SOS manually from the app or automatically using a paired hardware SOS device with an IoT SIM. When an SOS is activated, the app sends emergency SMS alerts to trusted contacts, plays a loud siren sound, and triggers strong vibration. These alerts work even if the phone is locked, the app is closed, the device is in silent or Do Not Disturb mode, or mobile data is turned off.

The app supports two roles: sender and receiver. Senders configure emergency contacts and the hardware device, while receivers get clear alerts and notifications. All data is stored locally on the device, with no backend servers, ensuring privacy and reliability.

Nirbhaya – Who Safe uses required permissions only for emergency and safety functions and follows Android and Play Store policies. The app does not replace official emergency services but provides a fast and dependable way to alert trusted people when help is needed.

This app is an offline emergency SOS safety app. SMS permission is used only to send emergency alerts to user-selected trusted contacts and to receive trigger SMS from a paired hardware SOS device (IoT SIM). SMS is used only during user-initiated or hardware-triggered emergencies. The app does not read personal messages, access call logs, use SMS for marketing or analytics, or share SMS data with third parties. A visible foreground notification is shown during SOS activity.
