Will Impulse is an app locker built for one moment: the second a craving hits and your thumb is already opening a food delivery or shopping app. Ordering takes thirty seconds. Will Impulse makes it take longer than the urge lasts.

Lock the apps that tempt you. When you open one, a lock screen steps in front of it. To get through, you have to earn it.

HOW IT WORKS

• Pick any app installed on your phone from a simple icon grid
• Slide to lock it
• Open that app later and the Will Impulse lock screen appears over it
• Choose how to unlock: answer a quiz, wait it out, or spend keys
• Once unlocked, the app opens normally for the time you earned

THREE WAYS TO UNLOCK

Quiz: answer questions on maths, general knowledge, money and self-control. You choose the difficulty when you set up the app, from 25 questions on Light to 150 on Extreme. By the time you finish, the impulse has usually passed.

Wait: start a 20-minute timer. If you still want to order when it ends, it was not an impulse.

Keys: a paid shortcut for real emergencies. 1 key unlocks an app for 5 minutes, 2 keys for 15 minutes, 3 keys for 30 minutes and 5 keys for 1 hour.

LOCKS THAT ARE HARD TO UNDO

Removing a lock for good is deliberately slow: 200 correct answers, a 96-hour wait, or 10 keys. Your quiz progress and timers are saved, so they keep counting even if you close the app or restart your phone.

Uninstall protection is optional. When you turn it on, Will Impulse and your locked apps cannot be removed on a whim. Uninstalling while protection is on costs 20 keys. You can always turn protection off yourself in Android Settings under Device admin apps.

PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED

Will Impulse asks only for what app locking requires:

• Usage access: to see which app is open, so the lock screen can appear at the right moment. The app does not read the content of other apps.
• Display over other apps: to show the lock screen on top of a locked app.
• Notifications: for the small "shield active" notice Android requires while protection runs in the background.
• Run at startup and ignore battery optimisation: so your locks keep working after a restart.
• Device admin (optional): only to prevent uninstalling. It gives the app no other control over your phone.

IN-APP PURCHASES

Keys are optional consumable purchases made through Google Play. Every core feature, including locking, the quiz and the wait timer, is free to use without buying anything.

Will Impulse does not ban apps or judge what you order. It puts a real cost between you and the tap, so an order happens only when you truly want it.
