Chess Champ is a complete chess platform built for players of every level — from first-timers learning the rules to seasoned competitors chasing the Chess Champion rank.

PLAY AGAINST THE AI
Face six difficulty levels from Beginner (rating ~600) to Champion (rating ~2100). Lower levels play human-like moves with occasional blunders so beginners can learn, while higher levels use deep alpha-beta search with quiescence and move ordering for a serious challenge. Pick your side, set the time control, and start playing.

LOCAL TWO PLAYER
Pass and play on a single device. Perfect for playing with a friend face-to-face. Full move validation, clocks, draw offers, and resignation are all handled by the rules engine.

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER (COMING SOON)
Ranked and casual matchmaking with server-authoritative results. A single device can never decide a ranked outcome — fair play is built into the architecture. Online play activates when the matchmaking backend goes live.

CHESS PUZZLES
Sharpen your tactical vision with curated puzzles. Solve back-rank mates, smothered kings, promotion tactics, deflection combinations, and rook ladders. Each puzzle has a hint if you get stuck, and your progress is tracked over time.

INTERACTIVE TUTORIAL
New to chess? The Learn Chess section covers every rule with board diagrams and clear explanations: how each piece moves, castling, en passant, pawn promotion, opening principles, and basic checkmates. Twelve lessons take you from complete beginner to playing your first real game.

ELO RATING & RANK DIVISIONS
Every rated match updates your Elo rating using the same formula as competitive chess. Climb through eight divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Chess Champion. New players get provisional accelerated ratings so you settle at a fair level quickly.

MATCH REVIEW & PGN EXPORT
Every match is saved to your history. Replay any game move by move with board navigation controls, then export the full game in standard PGN notation via the share sheet — perfect for analysis or sharing with friends.
