About this app

Will U Be There tells you when a friend will be in the same city as you, while there is still time to meet.

Add the trips you already have booked. Your friends add theirs. When two trips land in the same city on overlapping dates, both of you get a push. Same if a friend lives where you're headed, or if you miss each other by a few days. You find out before you fly home, instead of from a photo three weeks later.

Then there is the question of what to do once you're there. For every trip, the app pulls in the concerts, exhibitions, festivals and markets happening within 15 km of where you're staying, inside your dates, from tourist boards, city open-data portals, opera houses and ticketing platforms. Over 80 sources in 40+ countries so far, picked by hand, so some cities are denser than others. Star what you like and it stays with the trip.

You can host too. Make an event at a real address, send it to all your friends or to the groups you pick, and the answers come back as Going or Maybe, with names. Everyone going gets a reminder on the day and can open the venue in their maps app.

Groups skip the friend requests. Make one for the ski week or the conference, drop the link in the chat, and anyone who joins and adds a trip shows up in your matches when the city and dates line up. Up to 200 people per group. Per trip, you choose which groups it may match against.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Set your home city and add a trip: a city and two dates.
2. Add friends by username or with your share link. Or start a group.
3. Get a push when someone's trip lands within 100 km of yours and the dates touch.
4. Browse what's on in that city and star the events you want.

WHAT A FRIEND CAN SEE
Only the overlap. When two trips match, a friend sees that city and those dates. The rest of your trip list stays private, and nobody ever sees your full itinerary.

Near misses count too. Miss a friend by a week and the app flags it, so you can shift a day if you want to.

It knows who lives there as well. A friend based in Lisbon shows up when you're going to Lisbon, and only if they will be home rather than off traveling themselves.

Sign in with Apple, Google, or a six-digit code by email. No password to leak. No ads and no ad SDK, and you can delete your account from inside the app.

Free, on iPhone and Android, in 17 languages. Put in one trip and see what comes back.
Know when a friend's trip overlaps yours, and what's on in that city.
