About this app
WinaltChat is the mobile companion app for the WinaltChat live chat plugin for WordPress. Answer visitors on your website from your Android phone, wherever you are.
IMPORTANT: This app requires a WordPress website with the WinaltChat plugin installed and an account with the Live Chat Agent role (or an administrator). The free plan supports up to 3 agents. It does not work on its own, and it cannot be used to create a site or an account.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- See a dashboard summary of waiting, active and unread conversations, plus a list of chats that need attention.
- Browse all your conversations with unread counts, status filters (waiting, active, closed) and pinned chats at the top.
- Search conversations by visitor name, email or message text.
- Open a conversation and reply in real time as a support agent.
- See when a visitor is online and which messages they have read.
- Close a conversation when it is resolved.
- Show your availability to visitors while the app is open.
WORKS WHEN YOUR CONNECTION DOESN'T
- Recently viewed conversations stay available offline.
- Messages you send without a connection are queued and sent automatically once you are back online.
SECURE BY DESIGN
- Signs in with a WordPress Application Password, not your main WordPress password. You can revoke it from your WordPress profile at any time.
- Connects over HTTPS only. Plain HTTP sites are rejected.
- Your credentials are stored in the Android Keystore-backed secure storage.
- Cached conversations on your phone are encrypted, expire after 7 days, and are wiped when you log out.
- No ads and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
GETTING STARTED
1. Install and activate the WinaltChat plugin on your WordPress site.
2. In WordPress, go to Users > Profile > Application Passwords and create a new password for the app.
3. Open WinaltChat, enter your site address (https://...), your WordPress username and the Application Password, then tap Sign in.
