About this app

Wind Ready finds times when the wind forecast matches your chosen conditions at any location and monitors them for you, reducing the need to repeatedly check forecasts yourself.

Choose a spot, set a minimum or maximum wind speed, select your preferred wind direction, and choose your available days and hours. Wind Ready checks for new matching forecast windows and sends alerts to help you plan ahead.

Use it to plan kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, boating, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing or any wind related activity.

• Matching forecast windows
Find forecasts that meet your preferences throughout your selected hours, with the best match shown first. Explore opportunities up to 14 days ahead where available, or shorter alternatives when your full period does not match.

• Custom wind alerts
Set a maximum wind speed for calmer conditions or a minimum for stronger wind. Add preferred directions, days and hours. Alerts notify you when forecast checks find new matching windows.

• Monitor a chosen window
Follow a specific window with reminders, an opening alert when forecast conditions match, and updates when confirmed checks show conditions have changed or match again. Keep upcoming and past monitored windows together in Activity.

• Optional calendar availability
Filter matches and new-window alerts around busy times in your selected calendars. Wind Ready uses your last synced availability, updating when you open the app and in the background when your device allows.

• Wind forecasts and charts
View forecast wind speed, gusts, direction and trend. Matching-window charts show the surrounding day and highlight your window, helping you compare conditions before, during and after your selected hours.

• Saved spots and map search
Search for a place, drop a pin or use your current location. Name and save beaches, lakes, bays and launch points. Pro supports multiple saved spots.

• Tide predictions
See nearby predicted high and low tide times and heights, rising or falling tide information, and a tide curve alongside your chosen window, where supported.

• Additional weather information
Check rain chance, UV, sunrise and sunset, plus air temperature and water temperature estimates where available.

• Sharing and calendar export
Share a forecast window with someone or add it to your calendar.

• Units and quiet hours
Choose your preferred measurement units and set quiet hours to silence notifications without stopping monitoring.

Free access includes one saved spot, today’s wind forecast, the wind compass, rain chance, UV, sunrise and sunset, plus the next high and low tide where available.

Pro adds multiple saved spots, extended forecast planning, matching windows, automatic alerts, window monitoring and detailed conditions during selected windows.

Alerts require Pro access, notification permission and an internet connection. Location permission is optional.

Wind Ready uses weather-model forecasts, not live wind measurements. Forecasts can change and local conditions may differ. It is a planning tool, not an emergency warning service or a guarantee of safe conditions. Check official warnings and local conditions before heading out.
