Keystead is an offline password manager. Free, with no ads.
[Why it's safe]
· Offline by design: Keystead never even requests the internet permission, so the system enforces it. It couldn't upload anything if it tried. You can check its permissions in your phone's settings and see for yourself.
· Stored only on your phone: every password is encrypted with the master password you set and kept on your device. Nothing passes through a server, and the developer can't see it either.
· Only you know the master password: it is never stored and never uploaded. No one can recover it for you, and no one can open your vault for you.
· No data collection: no sign-up, no login, no ads, no analytics. It keeps no record of what you use.
· Stays out of cloud backups: your vault is not uploaded with your phone's cloud backup.
[Easy to live with]
· AutoFill at sign-in: fill your username and password with one tap in other apps and browsers.
· Unlock with fingerprint or face, and lock automatically when the app goes to the background.
· Generate strong passwords with one tap, so you don't have to think them up.
· Encrypted backup: export a backup file that only your master password can open, then import it when you switch phones.
[About free]
Keystead is free, with no ads and no subscriptions.
[Things you should know]
· Keystead does not sync across devices. To move to a new phone, use a backup file.
· If you forget your master password, your vault cannot be opened. Memorize it, and export backups regularly.
