Wing Eye: Guess the Bird

About this app

Wing Eye is a bird quiz that shows you a real photo and two possible names — one correct, one a plausible decoy — and challenges you to keep your streak alive.

Can you tell a Peregrine Falcon from a Saker Falcon? A Snowy Owl from a Barn Owl? Get it right, your streak grows. Get it wrong, it resets. The longer your streak, the harder the round and the closer the decoys get: early rounds pair unmistakable species like a Flamingo against an obviously-wrong bird from a different family, while a long streak might ask you to tell two similar raptors, owls, or songbirds from the same family apart.

HOW TO PLAY
• Look at the photo, pick the correct name from two options
• Build your streak — the quiz gets harder as you go
• Use a save to protect your streak after a wrong guess

WHAT'S INSIDE
• A hand-picked collection of bird species spanning raptors, owls, corvids, waterfowl, seabirds, parrots, hummingbirds, and more — with more discovered and added automatically over time
• "About this bird" — background on every species, sourced from Wikipedia, for every round
• Favourite any bird you spot to build your own personal collection, with the full backstory saved for whenever you want to revisit it
• An optional public leaderboard, and private password-protected Friends Boards to compare your streak with people you choose

BUILT ON VERIFIED, LICENSE-CHECKED PHOTOS
Every photo shown has been checked, photo by photo, directly against its iNaturalist license record before being included — only photos cleared for this kind of use (with photographer credit shown where the license requires it) make it into the game.
