About this app

WithU Familiar - Child is the companion app for the child's device within the WithU Familiar system.

It allows the parent or legal guardian to link the child's device to their family account and use authorized parental control features, such as background location tracking, location history, alerts, device status, and app usage monitoring.

The app collects data only for authorized family control and parental control features. It displays clear warnings before requesting sensitive permissions and maintains a persistent notification while the parental control service is active.

Background Location: WithU Familiar - Child uses background location tracking to allow the authorized guardian to see the device's location even when the app is closed or not in use. This feature is essential for family safety and authorized parental control.

Camera Usage: The camera is used to scan the pairing QR code and may also be used to capture photos at the request of the legal guardian, if permission has been granted.

Microphone Usage: The microphone may be used for parental safety features, such as emergency detection or audio capture at the request of the legal guardian, when the corresponding permission is enabled.

App Usage Access: The Usage Access permission allows the collection of which apps are used and the approximate time they remain active. This information is shown only to the authorized guardian for parental supervision.

Data Safety: The app may collect:

• Approximate and precise location.

• Photos and audio upon authorized request.

• App activity.

• Device and battery information.

• Account information for linking.

• Security alerts and events.

Data is used for app functionality, security, account management, and parental controls. No personal information is sold. Data is stored on infrastructure services such as Firebase and Google Cloud to operate the platform.
