Keyboard input lag This app needs improvement with keyboard input and faster computation. I'll give more stars if the issues are fixed. If the developers are reading this, I have a Samsung S5 just in case u guys are wondering about my device.

Tanner Murphey

Perfect for math Will solve any math problem (at least that I've given it) and even offer a step by step solution! Best app I've gotten in a while

Alvaro Chong

Fixed issues on Android Lollipop Did not expect a fix, since I thought the app had been abandoned. Glad the developers proved me wrong.

Juan Neri

I wish you updated the look The app us great, just like every Wolfram product, however the esthetics of the app should be updated , the spinning circles it shows when computing for example.

Suprateeka R Hegde

Carry the world's knowledge in pocket! An obvious essential! As far as I remember, I use this app almost everyday both at work and home. Given the usefulness and power of this app, I do not want to write about any software issue.

User reviews

Needs quite a bit of improvement! Wolfram Alpha is such a useful service, but this app is such a poor reflection of the real thing. I am grateful that there are step-by-step solutions available, but they are terribly pixelated on my phone's screen because they obviously didn't account for HiDPI screens. I should note that most phones' screens are HiDPI ever since we entered the year 2012. Come on Wolfram, this is pathetic.

Barely works (sometimes) This app does nothing right. It has no advances over the website version, fast internet connection is needed, the funky custom keyboard they use makes external keyboards unusable. And that is if the app works. After 10-20 minutes the app simply stops working (invalid appid).

Good program, needs UI improvements The functionality is good, its only failed me on some very hard calculus problems. However, the app needs some work. The built in keyboard is ugly and laggy and sometimes its quite frustrating. Overall its also a very plain looking app. While the main focus is functionality, a material design theme would make it look much better.

Keyboard doesn't work Which makes this app useless. Also you should update it to fit the android guidelines, it seems like this app was last worked on 2 years ago

We apologize for the inconvenience. Could you please provide us with more information including specific queries where the issue occurs? Send the information to android-support@wolframalpha.com. Very slow. Times out most of the times. Step by step solution doesn't even work for me most of the times. Simple problem of integrate root tanx dx times the app out. Not happy with the purchase. Not sure if there's some help / tutorial link either. Atleast not readily available. Was really looking forward to enjoy this app esp. After watching the wolfram language demo video. Disappointed.

Wolfram Group January 27, 2015

You can find example queries by visiting wolframalpha.com or by checking out the Examples section in the in-app menu by pressing and holding the device menu button. If you have other questions, please email us at android-support@wolframalpha.com. Great if you know how to use it This tool seems to be immensely powerful, and I find the app is particularly useful when I'm doing maths work. Sadly, I feel like it's pushing some users away with its antiquated interface and lack of instructions, if you like. Give new users examples of things that the app can do. Go to the user, rather than waiting for them! :)

Another lackluster update The updates are few and far between, and seem to only be minor tweaks and fixes. Which is unfortunate, because the interface is in MAJOR need of an overhaul. The interface feels antiquated, it seems like they haven't updated it at all since the app's initial release. PLEASE put some time and effort into the app Wolfram, it seems like you've abandoned it.

Times out without explanation After 2 hrs of using (Galaxy S4, latest droid OS 28Dec2014), I see this still has a few bugs and UE issues: 1) If an evaluation "times out" there is no mention of what the problem might be (e.g. erroneous expression or insufficient processing power): Solve[Integrate[√(1+(cosx)^2),{x,0,b}]==7.6404,b], 2) Can't use back button to recall a previously entered input or screen after clicking a link in the lower solutions section, 3) Would be nicer if you could save "favorite expressions" for future reference.

Mathematics is a powerful calculation software for your android smartphone.

FEATURES

Calculate any formula you want and show them in a 2d or 3d plot. The natural display shows fractions, roots and exponents as you would expect it from mathematics.

In a few seconds you derivate or integrate your desired function, calculate the zero points of your function und show them in the function plot. See all maxima, minima or inflection points in one view.

The easy way of use allows you to solve linear equations in just a moment. Or transform your mathematical, physical or chemical equation to any unknown variable.

You often needs to calculate with binary, octal or hexadecimal number systems? No problem! You can mix them together in one calculation even by using decimal digits. But that's not enough! You can also calculate with any other number system with base 2 to 18.

From time to time you may need to convert units to another one, like Celsius to Fahrenheit, miles to kilometre, inches to foot and so on.

You will also be able to calculate with vectors, matrices and determinants.

All this features are combined in this app and will make your mathematical life a lot easier.
