GeoStick is a mock location tool for people who build and test location-based apps.
Instead of physically travelling to a place to verify geofencing, route tracking, or
distance calculations, you can change the location your device reports and validate the
behaviour from your desk.
■ Required setup (please read)
GeoStick uses the mock location feature that Android provides officially. To use it you must
select GeoStick under Settings > Developer options > Select mock location app on your device.
Root is not required, and nothing in the app works until you make that selection.
The app does not bypass or modify any system security.
■ Features
· Tap the map to jump to any coordinate instantly
· A joystick overlay that works on top of other apps — walk, run, cycle and drive speed presets
· Automatic route playback along waypoints at a steady speed (once / round trip / loop)
· Injects into both LocationManager and the Fused Location Provider
· A diagnostics view that reads back the coordinates other apps actually receive, including isMock
· A floating launcher and overlay map so you can drive it without switching apps
■ Who it's for
· Android developers building location-aware features
· QA engineers repeating geofence enter/exit scenarios
· Teams testing route logic in delivery, logistics, fitness and navigation apps
■ Privacy
GeoStick collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising
SDKs and no analytics. Coordinates and routes you enter are used on the device only and are
never transmitted or stored. Rendering the map does issue tile requests to the OpenStreetMap
tile servers. Details: https://geostick.woohey-p.com/privacy
■ Please note
This is a development and testing tool. Do not use it in ways that violate the terms of service
of other apps or services. The developer is not responsible for account penalties or other
consequences arising from such use.
■ Permissions
· Location — inject mock coordinates and read the real position on request
· Display over other apps — joystick and floating launcher
· Notifications — the ongoing notice shown while mocking is active
· Internet — download OpenStreetMap map tiles
