About this app

Daily Mail is a mobile email app that lets users receive and send email using POP and SMTP accounts configured by the user.

The app provides an inbox, sent mailbox, and trash folder. Read and unread messages are clearly separated, and deleted messages are moved to the trash before they are permanently removed.

After receiving POP email, Daily Mail stores messages locally on the device so users can read previously received messages. Users can also set how long received messages should remain on the mail server. The default server retention period is 45 days from the local receive time.

Email messages are displayed with support for HTML tables, links, inline images, image-based message bodies, and attachments. Users can open received attachments and add photos or files when sending email.

Multiple email accounts can be added and checked separately. When composing a message, users can choose which account to send from. The built-in address book helps users save contacts and import or export contacts using CSV files.

Daily Mail checks for email when the app starts. From 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the app also attempts to check for new email every 30 minutes and can show notifications and app badges when new messages are found. Background checks may be delayed depending on device operating system and battery settings.
