About this game

Sueca is the card game of Portugal: a four-player trick-taking game played with a 40-card deck and two fixed partnerships. This is the whole game, 100% offline. Every deal and every match runs with no internet connection, no sign-up and no account. You and your AI partner sit against two AI opponents, exactly as you would at a real table.

WHAT YOU GET

• 100% offline. Every deal, every partida, with no connection at all.
• No sign-up, no account, no login. Open the app and you are playing.
• Three difficulty levels. On Hard the AI counts the cards that have gone and plays the endgame out.
• The AI cannot see your hand. The code can only give it the public information you see.
• Cards are shuffled with your device's cryptographic random generator, never rigged for or against you.
• Cartas Grandes: two card sizes, set to LARGE from the start, so the pips stay easy to read.
• Your match saves itself. Close the app in the middle of a vaza and come back to the same cards.
• 13 app languages, and an optional weekly and all-time leaderboard.

HOW SUECA WORKS

Four players, two fixed partnerships, partners facing each other. The deck is 40 cards, with the 8s, 9s and 10s removed. The order of the cards is A, 7, K, J, Q, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, so the Jack really does beat the Queen. Card points: Ace 11, the seven (bisca) 10, King 4, Jack 3, Queen 2, which makes 120 points in every deal.

The dealer's last card is turned face up and its naipe becomes the trunfo, and that card stays in the dealer's hand. Follow the led suit whenever you hold it; if you are void you may play anything, and you are never forced to trump. Each vaza goes to the highest trunfo played, or to the highest card of the suit that was led. Take 61 card points and you win the deal, 91 points wins two game points, and all 120 is a bandeira worth four. The first partnership to 4 game points wins the partida.

Learned Sueca from family in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique or Cape Verde? These are the rules you remember, including the ones people argue about. Never played? The How to Play screen explains every rule in plain language, and the game only lets you play a legal card, so you cannot go wrong while you learn.

Sit down and play a hand of Sueca, on a plane, on the train, or anywhere with no signal.
