"Wu Yi Sun College and Faculty of Education" is a non-profit accessible navigation application developed by a student team from Wu Yi Sun College and the Faculty of Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Based on Google Maps, it aims to provide the community with an unimpeded travel experience.
🎓 【Student Development & Community Service】 This application was independently researched and developed by CUHK students, adhering to a non-profit spirit, and aims to provide practical accessible travel tools for wheelchair users, the elderly, and people with mobility impairments.
🗺️ 【Accessibility Map】 Covers over 79 accessible facilities throughout Hong Kong, including lifts, ramps, stairs, escalators, pedestrian bridges, passageways, and restaurants. Each facility includes a photo, a 1-5 star accessibility rating, and detailed descriptions to help you fully understand the route before you set off.
🎙️ 【Cantonese Voice Navigation】 Provides step-by-step Cantonese voice guidance for walking routes, combined with real-time GPS positioning and smooth directional animations, as if you have a guide leading the way.
♿【Stepless Route Mode】 Switch to stepless routes with a single click. The system automatically prioritizes ramps and lifts, avoiding stairs and obstacles, making it suitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility impairments.
🔄【Real-time Facility Status】 Facility status is updated in real-time via the cloud. Facility malfunctions or service interruptions are indicated in red, ensuring you stay informed. Users can also proactively report new facilities or status changes and upload photos to contribute to the community.
🛤️【Flexible Route Planning】 Supports route analysis, displaying accessible facilities along the way. Alternative routes can be set, obstacles can be avoided, or specific locations can be passed through. Users can also customize the starting point, not limited to GPS location.
👁️【Caring Design】 Large font mode facilitates reading for visually impaired users. The text-to-speech function supports Cantonese reading, thoughtfully catering to different needs.
