Shimeji is a fully customizable engine that lets you construct frame-by-frame, import, or download your pre-existing Shimeji of choice easily and overlays it on top of all your apps! Have fun with your Shimeji buddy no matter where you go! And if they ever get in the way, continue seamlessly using your other apps by turning on pass through or ceiling mode! Play with up to five Shimeji at once!

What is a Shimeji?

Shimeji was originally a desktop buddy for computers. Artists would produce and distribute full image sets and plug them into the program, and the character would be off, spreading chaos and mayhem, intercepting clicks, and overall being adorable.

Now you can do the same for Android!

Used to work really well: would import, and change, and play with my Shimeji's all the time. It had the best UI out of all the apps too! But now it seems like it doesn't like to deal with importing and keeps bugging out when I try. Such a shame cause I used to love the app so much. :[

I will start by saying I only allow one pet on my screen, so I do not have any experience with paid version or multiple pets. With that said, I love this app! Love that I can choose the size of pets. I was able to completely make a pet from scratch on my husband's phone with hardly any frustration, so very user friendly for custom pets. Love that I can also edit downloaded pets. Yes, it can get in your way, but I've always seen shimeji (desktop versions too) as purposefully annoying little guys.

So far I've had no problems with this app! I was able to add my own images that I found off of google. It did have trouble understanding the zip file, so I had to put in the images myself, but I thought it was better that way because I could customize it. The app is cute and super easy to navigate, and you can change the size and even pass through the little shimejis!
