Xylorix PocketWood is a free-to-use app where users can access information and macroscopic images of various wood species from around the world. With our dedicated WIDK-24X01 macro lens kit equipped on the phone, users can perform manual wood identification as well by comparing the captured macroscopic images of their wood sample with the images available in our database.

Ratings and reviews

Not sure why this would be helpful to the average user. I didn't mind scrolling through to find a match, but unless you have a macro picture of the wood you are trying to identify, it's kind of useless. I wish there was a similar app but without the macro pictures...just regular pictures of wood. I wouldn't mind scrolling.

The poor whiners who may have to actually apply themselves and learn something potentially valuble, with a practical reference tool in hand, in the event that instant gratification is no longer accessible with the push of a button. Logically, Darwinism, etc...

I loaded it and 5 minutes later deleted it when I found it only identifies end grain. No use for exhisting work
