YaadEngine: Smart Flashcards

About this app

YaadEngine is a flashcard app that helps you remember what you learn, for exams, languages, or anything you want to keep in your head.

It uses two of the most effective study methods known: Spaced Repetition and Active Recall. You try to remember the answer first, then check yourself. YaadEngine then decides when you should see each card again, just before you would forget it, so you spend your time on what you need to review.

WHY YOU WILL LIKE IT

• Smart review schedule: a modern scheduling method (FSRS) plans every card's next review. Choose Again, Hard, Good or Easy and see when the card comes back.
• Whiteboard: write or sketch your answer on the card while you review, with a pen, an eraser, colours, undo and clear.
• Decks and folders: organise your cards in decks, put decks in folders, and put folders inside folders. Study a single deck or a whole folder at once.
• Make your own card types: add as many fields as you like, style each one, and create cards that fit your subject. Cloze cards (fill in the blank) are supported too.
• Pictures on your cards: add photos from your gallery or camera. A built-in editor lets you crop, rotate, and draw or erase notes on a picture.
• Maths and science: write formulas in LaTeX, even in the middle of a sentence.
• Bring your cards with you: import from Anki (.apkg) or from CSV spreadsheets, including pictures and review progress.
• Automatic backup: sign in with Google, choose how often and at what time of day, and your whole library, with pictures and progress, is kept in your own Google Drive and can be restored on a new phone.
• Share and export: export any deck or folder to a single file, with or without your study progress, and import it again on another phone — or export to Anki (.apkg) to use your cards there.
• Find anything fast: search all your cards, filter by deck, folder or card type, and manage many cards at once.
• Know how you are doing: see your daily streak, your review history, how many cards are coming up, and your retention rate over time.
• Study reminders: choose a time each day and get a gentle reminder.
• Light and dark themes.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

• No account and no sign-up. (Optional: back up to your own Google Drive.)
• Works fully offline.
• No ads. Anonymous usage and crash reports are optional: the app asks first, and if you say no, nothing is sent.
• Your cards and progress stay on your phone, or in your own Google Drive if you switch on the optional backup.

Whether you are preparing for an exam, learning a language, or memorising anything else, YaadEngine helps you study smarter instead of longer.
