Scoring a goal means you missed.
Crossbar Challenge is a football game with one rule and it is not the usual
one: the ball has to hit the bar. The net is the fail state. Bury it in the
top corner and the game tells you that you missed.
Pull back to aim, like a slingshot. A dotted arc shows the shot you are about
to take. Let go and watch it. Miss, and the ball is back on the tee instantly
- one tap, shoot again. There is no timer, no lives, no energy bar and nothing
to wait for.
117 LEVELS, HAND-BUILT, ACROSS FIVE SETTINGS
- STADIUM (27 levels) - learning the arc, then the wind
- BEACH (27 levels) - sea breeze, piers, and a crab that catches the ball
- SPECIALS (9 levels) - nine levels, nine mechanics that appear nowhere else
- MOON (27 levels) - lower gravity, no air, and Earth in the sky
- DEEP FIELD (27 levels) - gravity wells that bend the ball around the goal
Every level is placed by hand and every one of them has been solved by the
person who made it. Nothing here is generated filler.
WHAT GETS IN THE WAY
Crosswinds that change as you aim. Goals that slide, spin and drift. Walls you
have to go over, walls you have to go around, and one wall you cannot see.
Bounce pads. Vents that shove the ball mid-flight. Goals that fade out before
the ball arrives. Gravity nodes that pull the shot into a curve you have to
plan around rather than fight.
