About this app

The goal of Read Scripture is that everyone would read the Bible for themselves and discover the truth and beauty of God’s Word.

To this end, we are curating a year-long Bible reading plan and supplementing the reading with amazingly creative videos (produced by our friends at the Bible Project) that explain every book of the Bible, major theological themes of the gospel, and tips on how to read the Bible.

We will house all of this content in a beautifully designed app that will be available to download in the App Store and on Google Play.

We encourage you to experience Read Scripture in community but it is set up so that you can go through it on your own.

I have read almost the entire Bible with this app. It's been life changing! I wish there was an option to switch it to chronological order. That's my next adventure in diving into the good word. Regardless, the Bible project team has done a wonderful job with the explanatory videos that have really helped me understand what I'm reading much better.

I started using the app in Jan, 2021. I haven't missed a day of reading and I was really enjoying the videos and commentary along with my reading. When I opened the app this morning, my progress and the schedule were gone! I tried to reset, then uninstall, but nothing worked, so I just deleted the app. My daughter's app is working fine, so maybe it's just a problem with my phone. I'm very disappointed, though.

*Edit- After the response from the developer, it is now working perfectly again. Thank you for giving me that tip on getting my progress back.* When it was working, it was great. I was through to Nehemiah when it just stopped loading, just white where the scripture list was. It was like it couldn't connect - cleared cache/data, reinstalled - and it won't work anymore. Same on different wifi and cellular. Will use the pdf to finish up. Still working on my kid's phone though, so I have no idea.
