About this app

The goal of Read Scripture is that everyone would read the Bible for themselves and discover the truth and beauty of God’s Word.

To this end, we are curating a year-long Bible reading plan and supplementing the reading with amazingly creative videos (produced by our friends at the Bible Project) that explain every book of the Bible, major theological themes of the gospel, and tips on how to read the Bible.

We will house all of this content in a beautifully designed app that will be available to download in the App Store and on Google Play.

We encourage you to experience Read Scripture in community but it is set up so that you can go through it on your own.

Update: the issue is resolved!! Simple and straightforward outline. Easy to use. I love that you can turn verse numbers on/off. When I turn the numbers off, it's easier to read like regular text. I enjoy the illustrations and prompts. One thing that's lowering the score: the videos aren't available to watch. I see a black void where the video should be. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this did not resolve the issue.

Super great until now. Was using it for quite a while but then just yesterday I had a blank screen and no progress was showing. Even when I restarted the app and my progress nothing would pop up. Now I uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no fix to the blank screen. I would really love it if a developer would fix that problem! Edit: thank you for reviewing that!! It has since been fixed and able to continue my progression. Thank you for your quick response!!

** Update ** The developers have resolved the issue This is a fantastic app with excellent commentary and sketched videos. However, after my Samsung S10 phone installed a recent update the app no longer works. The progress area is just completely blank. I sent a screen shot to the developer a couple days ago when I first noticed the issue but haven't heard back. Looks like the app hasn't been updated for a few years. Maybe it'll magically start working again after the next Samsung phone update?!
