About this app

Young Minds App is the companion app for Young Minds App Parents.

Please only install this app on a phone or tablet used by a child or teen. It works together with the Young Minds App Parents to help parents guide digital independence through learning, motivation, and trust.

To get started, create a free account:

1 - Download the Young Minds App Parents on the parent’s device and create a parent account.
2 - Download Young Minds App on each child’s device you want to protect and link to the parent account.
3 - Together, the two apps allow parents to apply safety settings, support digital wellbeing, and guide increasing independence over time.

Customise website access for each screen time mode. For example, allow only learning websites during Study Mode to help reduce distractions.

✔ Always-Allowed Apps
Parents can now define essential apps (like Phone or Maps) that remain available at all times – even when other restrictions are active.

✔ Daily Device Usage Limits
Set a maximum total screen time per day to help your child balance device use and offline activities.

✔ Block Unknown Sites
Parents have the option to block uncategorised websites for added protection against unverified or potentially unsafe content.

Note:
- The Young Minds App uses Device Administrator permission to help prevent uninstallation without the parent’s knowledge.
- The app uses Accessibility Services to support children, including those with behavioural challenges, by enabling screen time, app and web activity monitoring and appropriate access controls.
- The Young Minds App Kids includes an optional VpnService to filter and monitor web activity. It enables website blocking and safe browsing as part of our parental controls. All VPN traffic is encrypted and used only to protect children online.
- The Young Minds App Kids uses location services, including in the background, to share the child’s location with the parent. Location access can be disabled at any time in device settings.
