How to use:
Discover other people, music, artists, and friends. Collect hearts. Hearts are given freely. You can create hearts by sharing content or giving it to someone you’re subscribed to.

Friends are users who are subscribed to each other.

Fun fact: Every year, you’ll gain a level.

Features
Cactus 1 is basic, limited. Currently only allows a way to customize your own page, discovery of other users, and a way to engage with them. I will continue to improve in Cactus 2. The music is through an API so it has a limit which resets every day — first come first served.

Controls
Swipe left to heart a post.
Swipe right to trash a post.

On discovery, swipe up to see next profile.
Tap on the Cactus music icon to see more about a person.

Swipe left on comments to reply.
Swipe right on comments to delete a comment (if you are the owner of the post or comment).

Editing your page
Click the Cactus music icon to cycle through different sections of your profile.

For the best experience, use earphones or headphones.

Safety
I’ve built in some logic and features to make it as safe as I can with the resources I have. Don’t be afraid to delete or remove a comment on your post if it is not benefitting you or the conversation. If someone is harassing you or is sketchy, I’ve added in a ‘block user’ button which you can access in your subscriber list. I will also be manually reviewing profiles and comments myself. I also built in the ability to share your location only for the purposes of your bio, but if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please don’t share or enable this feature. Stay safe, and have fun.

cactus is a good app with some issues. the profile editing is very nice and cute the only issue I have is that there is no ruler tool, once you resize or rotate an image or text box it's almost impossible to put it back in a straight line. other issues include link/button boxes not working and crashing the app, the blocking feature being very hard to find, the discover page just being very bugged in general, and the font not working for certain languages. accessibility options would also be nice

i'm obsessed with cactus! the concept is innovative and i love the direction it's headed. adding music to profiles is a genius idea! the design is sleek and modern, and it's been cool to use so far. excited to see how it grows! some kinks to work out (wonky notifications, sometimes missing likes, bugs) but it's early days. thanks abe for creating cactus! can't wait to see what's next 🫶🏼

Despite some bugs, it is functional. It could use more interaction features to make it interesting. Needs more accessibility settings. My two ideas are volume and visuals, since it could benefit those with disabilities or heightened senses. Dev is loyal to his own words and is in touch with the community, very kind person. The personalization option is cool and the Ui is cute, I've spent hours having fun with it! Overall, I think it looks pretty good for a new app. I am excited to watch it grow!
