About this app

Block Apps — Stay Focused, Get Things Done
Block Apps is a powerful productivity and focus app that helps you eliminate distractions by blocking apps on your Android device during focus sessions. Whether you're studying for exams, grinding through work deadlines, or just need a proper digital detox, Block Apps holds you accountable when it matters most.
🔒 Two Powerful Blocking Modes
Strict Mode — Block every app on your phone at once. Perfect for deep focus sessions where zero distractions are acceptable. Set a duration, hit start, and everything locks down instantly.
Session Mode — Choose exactly which apps to block and when. Schedule blocks by time, day, or duration. Ideal for blocking social media during work hours while keeping essential apps like Phone and Messages accessible.
🛡️ Bypass-Proof Blocking — Real Commitment, Real Results
Most app blockers are easy to bypass — just uninstall mid-session and you're free. Block Apps is different. Once a session starts, escaping is impossible until the timer runs out.
Once a session is active:

Uninstalling Block Apps is fully disabled
Device Settings are locked — you cannot revoke Device Administrator or disable any permission mid-session
Google Play Store is blocked — you cannot uninstall through Play either
The session cannot be cancelled — it runs the full duration you set

Because both Settings and the Play Store are blocked during a session, there is no way to invoke, revoke, or bypass the Device Administrator permission while a session is running. Once your session ends, all restrictions lift automatically — you can revoke Device Administrator, uninstall Block Apps, and access Settings freely.

🔧 Permissions Used & Why

Accessibility Service — Block Apps uses Android's Accessibility Service API solely to monitor which app is in the foreground during an active focus session. When you open a blocked app, Block Apps instantly overlays the screen to prevent access. It also detects navigation to Settings or the Play Store mid-session and blocks those too, preventing permission changes or uninstallation during a session.
Block Apps is not designed as an accessibility tool for users with disabilities and does not use the IsAccessibilityTool flag. The AccessibilityService is used exclusively for app-blocking and focus enforcement as described above. Block Apps does not use this permission to read, intercept, record, or collect any on-screen content, keystrokes, or personal data. This permission can be freely revoked from Settings after any session ends.

Device Administrator (Prevent Uninstallation) — Locks Block Apps against uninstallation during a session. Without this, you could go to Settings and uninstall the app to escape any block. To close this loophole, Settings is blocked mid-session — so the Device Administrator permission cannot be revoked while a session is active either. Block Apps activates this only when a session begins and releases it the moment it ends, after which you can revoke it freely. Never used to wipe your device, set passwords, or any other management action.

Usage Access — Tracks daily time spent in each app to power App Usage Insights. All data stays on your device and is never uploaded or shared. Revokable from Settings at any time when no session is active.
