Zahor calculates the azkara date of your loved ones in the Hebrew calendar and notifies you every year, without you having to think about it.

An azkara—yahrzeit, hazkara, or nahala, depending on your tradition—shifts each year in the civil calendar. You only need to record the date of death once: Zahor calculates the corresponding Hebrew date, manages leap years and their two Adar months, and reminds you of the anniversary as the day approaches.

A MEMORIAL FOR EACH LOVED ONE
Create a page for each loved one: first name, Hebrew name, photo, and the memories you wish to preserve. Write freely, or let a few questions guide you to convey what matters—their voice, a recipe, a phrase they used to repeat.

ASHKENAZ OR SEPHARDIC, ACCORDING TO YOUR RITE
You choose your tradition once. It determines the month used in leap years (Adar I or Adar II) and the parent cited in the Hebrew lineage—father or mother. The dates and texts follow, without you having to refer back to them.

PRAYERS, Psalms, and Ritual
The daily Psalms (Tehillim), the Hashakhava, the Kaddish, and the prayers of remembrance, in Hebrew and phonetic transcription. On the day of the azkara, Zahor outlines the rituals: lighting the candle, gathering a minyan, giving tzedakah, and studying a text.

The First Year of Mourning
For a parent, Zahor identifies the end of the eleven months of Kaddish and the date of the first azkara—two milestones we seek precisely when we are least inclined to count.
