About this app

Zanbbel is a Syrian online marketplace, Arabic-first and right-to-left: browse the shops around you by department, order to your address, and follow your order on a map. And if you run a shop, it may already be listed — claim it and start selling from your phone.

FOR SHOPPERS

• Browse without an account. Search, open shops, fill a basket — no sign-up. You are asked to sign in only at the steps that genuinely need it, and the reason is stated each time.
• Three levels of departments on one screen, showing only the ones that actually have stock.
• Search that is not thrown off by Arabic spelling: hamzas, alif maqsura, ta marbuta, diacritics and tatweel are normalised, so "Istanbul" spelled two ways is one result. With brand and department filters, your search history, and sorting by nearest or most ordered.
• A shop page that shows opening hours, whether it is open and when it reopens, the delivery fee, the expected time, the minimum order, and whether it delivers to your address.
• A basket that survives closing the app, and warns you before it is replaced if you add an item from another shop.
• Pay cash on delivery, from the PIN-protected Zanbbel wallet, or by card where card payment is available.
• Before you confirm, the server quotes the order: a price breakdown, the expected time, and a warning if something has run out. Add a coupon, pick a saved address, add a tip if you want to.
• Map tracking: pickup, drop-off, and where the order is. The tracking link opens without an account.
• Message in-app with text and photos, or call from a screen that keeps the number out of the public tracking link.
• After delivery: rate the shop, or report a problem from nine reasons with a photo and a note — compensation can be issued as a coupon on the spot.
• Your orders with their status step by step, reorder in one tap, and cancel before dispatch with a stated reason.
• Favourites for products and shops, coupons that offer themselves to your basket, loyalty points and a referral code, and notifications that open straight onto the order. You can report or block a shop, and a block stays private to you.
• A multi-currency wallet — Syrian pounds and dollars side by side — with deposits, withdrawals, bank transfers and a transaction history.
• Order from another city: pick the source and destination cities, browse their shops, and get a quote for each leg. This kind of order is paid from the wallet or by Sham Cash.
• Your account: sign in with a code sent to your phone, a PIN, biometrics, an app lock, saved addresses, identity verification, and permanent account deletion from inside the app.

FOR MERCHANTS

• Your shop may already be listed. Search for its name, prove ownership with a verification code, then set your prices and open. Some shops find a draft product list ready to review; others start from a blank page. Registering from scratch is available as an alternative.
• A shop panel on your phone: products and their add-ons, variants as separate items each with its own stock, an order inbox with accept, preparation status, marking an item unavailable and pausing, manual order entry, reports, offers, coupon campaigns, staff with three roles, opening hours and location.

WHO IT IS FOR

Syrian shoppers buying in Arabic from their phone, small shop owners running the business from a handset rather than an office, people ordering from another governorate, and speakers of Arabic, English and Turkish.

Zanbbel is early: the number of approved shops is small today, and it grows as each merchant claims their shop and opens it.

Privacy fix: the device identifier used for ad measurement was shared across many devices. It is now unique to each install, so your ad-measurement choice applies only to you.
