Data Collection (Location)

Location data (Driver): ZayRide collects this data when the Uber app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen) of their mobile device.

Location data (Passenger). We collect precise or approximate location data from riders’ and delivery recipients’ mobile devices if they enable us to do so. ZayRide collects this data from the time a ride is requested until it is finished, and any time the app is running in the foreground of their mobile device. We use this data to enhance your use of our apps, including to improve pick-up locations, enable safety features, and prevent and detect fraud.
ZayRide collects driver location data, and links location data collected during a trip with their rider’s account, even if the rider has not enabled us to collect location data from their device. This enables us to offer services to the rider like receipt generation and customer support.

Ratings and reviews

Location search capabilities very weak - when you search for businesses, you get locations in US and somewhere, not Addis. To set drop location, you need to find the address on Google maps then try to select then align the pin to the same location in ZayRide app, which is very awkward and imprecise. Also drivers not well trained in using the app - one of mine didn't know how to start the trip or read the map!

This app seriously needs some improvements made. Clients need to be able to track the ride on its way to pick up and drop off. The fact that the app doesn't show that there is a ride service in progress and allows you to make another booking or cancel all together is not a convenient feature. Please do something about this and other defects.

Very affordable ride hailing service. However they don't have a lot of registered drivers so it's difficult to find a ride. And the location system needs some updates. Otherwise no issues.
